PPC is Temporary SEO is For The Long Haul

Let us begin by recalling briefly what SEO and PPC are.
While they are both strategies employed to direct traffic to websites, they differ in how they do it.
PPC, the abbreviation for Pay per click, is the type of online advertising, where an advertiser typically bids on keywords/phrases relevant to their target audience. Advertisements, in the form of online banners, are displayed on web sites or search engine results with related content. The advertiser, then, pays for the clicks generated by these sponsored links. This method is usually favored, because it allows an assessment of cost effectiveness and profitability of online marketing. However, PPC is not without its own pitfalls and can be abused through click fraud.
SEO, on the other hand, is the process of increasing the visibility of a website in a search engines organic (unpaid) search results. The higher ranked and more frequent a website appears in search results, the more visitors it will receive through the search engine.
As useful a marketing device as PPC might seem, it has a fundamental shortcoming, compared to SEO. Here, let me tell you a cautionary tale, before getting to the point. (Because, I like to think that there are always analogies between technology and humans.)
A while ago, a friend of mine was sick, nothing life threatening but problematic enough for him to miss multiple workdays in a month. I kept advising him to see a doctor in order to feel better and avoid missing workdays and he kept nodding and telling me "don't worry, tomorrow I'll see a doctor". Eventually he did, but then he ignored the doctor's advice: a minor surgery in order to be healthy in the long run. Yes, he was suffering from just a minor problem that could be definitively cured by a very simple and non invasive surgery but... No! He wasnt accepting it. So he spent almost a fortune, buying various medicines for temporary relief and being fine on some days, and then sick again every once in a while.
After two years he realized how much he spent on medicine and admitted that he was still sick and, even though less frequently, he was still missing some workdays. Still, he thought, he wasnt losing much money, because he was missing fewer workdays! He was right, too, but what he gained by not missing so many workdays, he was spending in medicine. So I advised him once again, to have that surgery as his doctor advised and get healthy in the long run, not just for short term.
Well, you know what? He did it. Had the surgery and now he is much better. His social life is great, never skipping a day and also bought a new car!
Now, getting back to Search Engine Optimization, SEO, websites are like humans: they may also need doctors and it's us, taking the example of my friend, the ones who decide about our websites' fate: Are we going to give it just a temporary relief pill or a minor surgery in order to rank better in the long run?
When I started with ChkMe.com, no one was paying attention to me as I was yelling with my megaphone ldquo;PPC Pay Per Click is a temporary relief, just like the pills my friend took! Search Engine Optimization SEO is the best cure, just like a definitive surgery!rdquo;.
The funny fact is that now, after many years of acid comments by SEO Gurus yelling back at me that Pay Per Click is the right cure, curiously, many of them, as well various other bloggers, are starting to write about the importance of SEO explaining that PPC is not SEO but part of it.
Why?
Let's talk about some facts and as example I want to take exactly this website. You are reading this post, using my tools and the popularity increased exponentially year after year and on March 2013 this website, born as a pet project but mainly as a hobby, had 30 thousand unique visitors per month and a growth of 64% every month. The total number of page views per month is of just 200 thousand. Not bad if you think that I haven't spent a cent on Pay Per Click: I just invested my spare time in real SEO.
I did it, many others do it, yet many others are still following SEO Doctors, Shamans and Psychologist and taking that temporary relief pill called Pay Per Click.
On 2010 I wrote a long but nice article, SEO Tips, read it again or read it now for the first time. There I explain, in laymans terms, how to optimize your website and then, using my SEO Tools you can check if and what kind of help your website needs.
Thanks for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it and before you leave, heres a tidbit: I am working on ChkMe Pro and I will soon publish a form where you can register for a private beta testing program.

Bing It On

Bing it Onhellip; seriously!
Google vs Bing or.. may I say Coca Cola vs Pepsi?
So here is my story, I tried this Bing It On and I discovered that it's a great marketing strategy that on the long run is going to die with just one looser, the expected one.
Microsoft, after years of silence, decided that was time to kick some asses and trying to erase a big competitor from the face of the world.
They tried first with Apple and they simply failed: Apple is a different world, different kind of software and enginery.
Microsoft it's too different and following a completely different path. They then tried to do the same with Social Networks (Do you know about a social named So.cl? Well... it's another failed experiment), with VoIP acquiring Skype and so on. They killed MSN to migrate to the acquired Skype platform.
Now they are trying to perform CPR to Bing by starting various "nice" marketing campaigns designed to steal possible Google's Users with BingItOn.com, a website where you can compare search results and decide who is the Winner and which may be your favorite search engine.
What people don't really notice is that how Microsoft it's desperately trying to attract peoples attentions by simplyhellip; copying!
I am not going to discuss the results that I personally obtained because it's clear that the most relevant results were coming from Google and not from Bing, the reasons are another story that I will cover in my next post.

But what it's incredibly astonishing is that the search results are visually the same!

So I imagine this scenario, that it's probably what people at Microsoft were thinking while creating Bing and this marketing campaign:
People will go to see this Bing it On website and will try to see which is the best daily search engine, they will get confused because the results are the same, psychologically a user is already pushed to then giving a try to Bing, they will visit it once and they will say, if not loudly at least they will think: Hey, it's like Google.
So people will start using Bing not because the results are less or more relevant but just because it's almost the same design, look and feel.
This may work with casual users and may be a victory for Microsoft but professionals will soon leave Bing and return to Googlehellip; or even Yahoo as the results are still not too much relevant with the searches.
Which is then my point in this Blog Post? It's easy, Bing and Google are good search engines: Both, all depend on what you want and what you need. If your idea of search on internet is about news and events, both Google and Bing are good search engines. But if your needs are a bit more specialistic, you may decide of course to use both Bing and Google, but the algorithms of Google are more reliable than the ones of Bing and you will finish finding the same infos you need at the very end instead that at the beginning if using Google.
What about your website or business company? I can only advise you to be optimized for both, it's a bad idea of being optimized only for one of them as there is no winner between the two. What I am trying to tell you is that this stupid fight between Google and Bing it's just a way to attract more customers, like the stupid fight between Coca Cola and Pepsi.
At the end, if you go in a restaurant to eat a Pizza you will be able to decide if you want one or the other. So imagine internet like your favorite restaurant, be ready to offer your product along with both of favorite drinks. Do not promote a fight between the two drinks or the two search engine, just be ready to be optimized with both of them!

Google SEO Speed And Penalizing Factors

When Speed can become a penalizing factor... let's talk about it.
Many people won't believe it, but it's said that most of the websites out there are running powered bycheap hostingcompanies and it's ok... unless you are planning to have a good number of visitors.
When I started with ChkMe I was one of them. A verycheap hostingaccount, few visitors and it was fine! I never had problems with Google. All the page were indexed without problems.
After few months, I noticed that many pages were not indexed, and a drop of visitors. I went like "WTF" and I discovered that most of the time my ChkMe Tool was down! Yes, down.
Now, for who don't know ChkMe was initially a suite of tools available on Ione.eu and then Yogem.com websites, was January 2007... Time passed, visitors growing and something was supposed to happen. So I had to ditch the reseller account and moved on my first series of dedicated servers and VPS, and I created the ChkMe.com website, yeah.. the one you know!
Since then I had to make many changes, Apache configurations andmemory upgradeson theVPS hostingit... until, one bright day of three weeks ago I discovered that theVPS hostingChkMe.com was provoking a luckily reversible issue: I was loosing visitors, Google was not able to index anymore contents and all the widgets were not responsive.
Well, after more than 30k visitors a simple VPS was not enough anymore. So I had to move on a premium VPS, with a faster network connection, with more RAM and CPU cores. Since move on the new VPS, ChkMe.com is faster and having a look to Analytics I can say that what was lost now is returning, more visitors... coming back home!
So, maybe you won't believe it easily but one of the most important SEO factors is to have a good hosting provider, if your website gain popularity the best thing to do will be to go VPS, then if things starts to go even better... well, adedicated servermay be your friend.
Speed can be a penalizing factor, cheap or free can sounds cool... but going PRO is the best think you can do. I have my favorite providers, but this is another story.

Google, Facebook, Youtube and Yahoo

A war of Titans, I imagine like this.Google maintain the King position, Facebook is the Prince of Internet, YouTube is the Duke and Yahoo is having troubles with the engines... Bing is just number 27.Last year I was stating that Yahoo was the real number one, 100% SEO optimized and friendly to the user but now, one year later, positions are switching.Google (GOOG) acquired definitively the King Position, showing to be able to attract more people than Yahoo and Facebook, yet.Facebook (FB) is a company that is trying to climb the solid walls built by his competitors, especially Yahoo (YHOO) that found it's throne slippery and start it's fall almost 6 months ago allowing Google to jump up in first position.
Google aims to be internet's swiss army multitool, a all in one site and seems it's doing a good work also with the newborn Google+. Some critics about the actual privacy policy that has been completely misunderstood by many people. Still the only valid search engine also if I am starting to notice a certain not consistency in search results, especially on Google Maps and Google Places. I believe that they are changing and/or upgrading their network facilities so a mistake once in a while is not a big deal. While Google still follow the ideals of the "Perfect Search Engine", Facebook wanna be a search engine, marketplace, advertisement platform, virtual amusement park and at the very end also social network. Maybe this strategy one day will work but they are loosing the ideal status of Social Network. Youtube, also if Google Managed, remain a small island in this Wild Sea of Internet and it does very well. It's a virtual tv where everyone of us can be director or owner of a TV channel, it has a Small Social Network role but it's not really aiming to be one. Maybe Youtube will be the only one who will really remain in the top 4 exactly for their ideals and goals.Yahoo is falling down. I think that they made some mistakes, they haven't invested where they were supposed to. Yahoo has been the king of social! Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Answer... What's wrong with them? They are loosing control, I understand the reasons but they need to wake up in time if they don't want to become the next MySpace (also if at the end MySpace seems to survive).Ok, what I am trying to say with this post? I am trying to say that when building a website, creating a new startup and generally this will work also in real life... we need to have clear what do we want!If we are going to launch a Website that is about SEO Score the idea is to provide SEO Services, following ideals, yes paying attention to Competitors but never trying to become them. Do we have a Speciality? We need to provide that speciality without trying to make our waters polluted by something it's not really in our knowledge...I am sorry for Yahoo that remained sleeping so many times without noticing that others were trying to steal their position, I know one day Facebook will be recognized not anymore as Social Network as well many others will survive just maintaining a high quality standard for their ideals.Being original, maintaining ideals and of course paying attention to SEO a company can remain visible for a long time.At the end the key is visibility, your Speciality is your Category, visibility is provided by the content, content need to be SEO friendly, if you are SEO friendly you are going to be the King of your Category.

PageRank has Returned

I recently had the opportunity to Fix the Grader and PageRank Tool: are working... Great! Big surprise I also discovered that PageRank has Returned!
I mean, many Google's Developer and Experts said in past months (if not years) to avoid paying too much importance to PageRank.
Now, why they say something like "PageRanks is not important" and then in less of 4 months they change the PageRank Code (Hey Google! Thanks for the Message...) but they also uses their PageRank Engine to create a list of "Citations" for Business Companies and Websites generally to rank better?
Well, for sure Google know what to do... the only goal for me was to fix the PageRank and Grader Check that now Work Perfectly!
Nice to know that ChkMe is now PageRank 3!

New SEO Tools

First of all, thanks for your continuous support and thanks also to all the people that every day visit ChkMe.com making it as reference to check the SEO status of many websites.Since long time I had not too much time to post in this blog because I am actively developing new SEO tools that are not published here, not at this time. But I have news! ChkMe.com is going to be revamped a bit, I will create a better template and publish two new tools:
Local Citation Finder
What are Citations? Citations are defined as "mentions" of your business name and address on other webpages, even if there is no link to your website. An example of a citation might be an online Yellow or White Pages directory where your business is listed, but not linked to or a local Chamber of Commerce. In few words, a place, website or social network where your business information can be found, even if they are not linking at all to your website. You may also see the term "web references" used on other websites as synonym for "citations".
Local Business Optimization Score
How your Business score online? With this tool you will discover how your Business is shown online!
More new in few days, thanks again to visiting ChkMe.com!

SEO Tips

Why SEO is important, this is what people usually ask and yes, don't worry, there is an answer. For every time I finish a website there is always an happy and satisfied client who leave the office and says me thanks but every time I stop and ask them "what does it means having a website?".

Our website is our Shop!
Common answer, isn't it?
Yes, a website is like a shop, if it's not just a personal blog of course. The needing of having a website is to be able to be visited, discovered and at the end to sell something. Now, the today's tips are related to a website and why should be visited and how SEO can help us with just 3 important tips.
Yes, let's call it our Shop. So we prepare a nice shop, with nice pictures, we hire some nice clerks that will sell our products. We hire a super expensive designer that will create particular spaces that will invite people to enter and to feel attracted and why not... feeling home! Yes! Home, why people should remain in a shop if there is nothing that invite them to remain?
Ok, the big day: The Opening! The owner wearing the perfect dress for the moment, clerks ready to do their job, smiling face and ding! The hour arrive, let's open the doors but wait a moment there's no one entering.
Ok, be positive! Tomorrow people will enter, people will arrive I know! I hired the best to have people here but guess what, a week is passed and no one entered the wonderful shop.
It's normal for every owner to feel a bit of delusion and to start also to feel a bit envy of the neighbour that have a not so nice shop, sell just one product but look! It's full, people visit it every day and most of them, no matter how people can have economic problems, most of them really buy something: something is wrong.
Yes, wrong... but what?
Let's tell the truth, the same happen for websites. You hired a great designer, have a wonderful logo, flashy things moving in the screen but not or poor visitors. Why?
Let's say that if we need to buy a TV, we go in a shop, we watch a TV that will fit perfectly with the furniture we have home, we go near it and ask to a clerk to talk about it, the clerk with a nice smile look at you and say: "Sir, it's a TV".
A bit disappointed you go out, maybe saying by yourself "If I wanted to know that was a TV I will never ask".
A bit sad but decided to buy a new TV you enter in another shop, seems managed by a group of not elegant but very casual people, you see another TV that you like and a clerk come near you asking if he can help you.
Of course you are a bit disappointed of the first answer but you say "Ok, let's see if I discover something I don't know".
You ask again for informations about of the TV and the clerk start to talk about life, death and miracles of the device, with much enthusiasm indeed.
You, with a big smile, look at him and very excited say "Ok! I buy it". The clerk, very friendly say that you made a great deal and ask you to wait while he's going to prepare everything.
You are excited and start looking at the shop notice that it's not bigger than the first one, as you noticed first people here are casual but friendly and they are really prepared on the products.
I think it's clear the message I am trying to say: A website is an opportunity that have to be understood. Hiring great designers to prepare a website can be your lucky strike to have a money maker website but also the inside need to be really well studied.
Having a website with tons of beautiful images but no descriptions will be like a nice woman or man that can say just her/his name. Will you ever date someone that's a bit empty inside? I don't think so.
Tip ndeg;1: Descriptive Images: ALT and TITLE tags

lt;img src="images/image name" alt="a great description of the image" title="What this image is"gt;

In a past article (read this about What SEO is), I already explained that an image should be both attractive and persuasive, let's say that the image is about the said TV, a great description should be, for example, "TV, 42 inches, dolby digital, 6 HDMI ports, available in black and silver, produced by Brand" and a title should be, for example, "Brand LCD TV, 42 inches".
Is it important? Yes it is. Google, Yahoo and Bings are the most important Search Engines yes but are like blind people, they don't know what an image represent, we need to give a description of the image like if we are clerks... and if we are good enough, the Search Engine will be our happy first client because will give to the website an high relevance and will advice our website with a certain priority instead of another one.
Tip ndeg;2: Be descriptive and put a lot of emphasy!

lt;pgt;This is an lt;bgt;important textlt;/bgt;, it talk about lt;emgt;thislt;/emgt; related to the lt;emgt;title of websitelt;/emgt;lt;/pgt;

The second clerk was enthusiast of what was saying about the device as well we need to put emphasis in what we want to say to our audience! With voice we can let people understand if something is important, writing we need to make it bold, and we emphasize words that are really relevant.
Tip ndeg;3: Don't generalize, be more descriptive!
The first clerk was making one of the common mistakes, "It's a TV". Where is the error? The error consist in the fact that saying TV is generic as well saying just website or us is generic. A website can be not a specific one and us... us.. who?
When you start writing context, don't be afraid to give importance to the brand you are going to describe. Don't stop writing just "Our website" or "Something more about Us" instead, write something like "Brand Website" and "Something about Brand". Dont stop call what you want to sell as "product" repeat the name. Let's say you produce TV and your brand is Horse. The more you say in a phrase using the right way, the more a search engine will give you ranking. Example, repeating "Horse Diamond LCD TV" will give you more ranking points at search engines eyes instead of a website that talk just saying "this product".
Again, SEO means Search Engine Optimization. A Search Engine can be our best Client and we need to do everything to be sure that this Client is going to be happy of us. If a Client is happy, other Clients will be happy too.
This time I was longer, I hope you will forgive my english, and I hope this will help you to understand that SEO is forever, PPC is temporary and that optimizing a website doesn't mean spending a lot of money.

SEO Star - ChkMe Free SEO Tools

I never thought and never was aiming to success. Well, success is a big word but for me it's really important.
Thanks to you all that every day visit Check My SEO (ChkMe.com) and thanks also to the core optimization of GC3pro, my not so famous CMS, since the publication of the new Check My SEO, ChkMe.com, along with YoGem.com, in one month our Free SEO Tools Home gained it's first PageRank point.
Yes, a SEO Star point appear in our badge, the first one. Since we created this service many people created other services aiming to do the same, but without great results. I see websites stuck, not updated not loved, not funny at all. They aim to be perfect while they are not. Google changed it's technology as well as other Search Engines like Yahoo, but they are still there, stuck: unable to say a word about Google results, they just give 0 for everything. Of course we had also the same problem but in less than one day we had the system working again and now Check My SEO, ChkMe.com is a small number of really working SEO Tools providers.
WebsiteGrader.com, MarkosWeb.com and DomainTools.com are the only website that I respect as well I respect their respective Owners. They love and believe in what they do, that's why they try every day to build new utilities, to give new services to the website owners, and they do it very well.
This is the real key of a website success: Being loved. Of course, it's a particular kind of love that no marketing service can sell you.
You need to love it otherwise... why you wanted a website? People won't arrive to you just because you wanted it. You need to believe in it, optimizing it, updating it and of course promoting it. But remember, the first place where you need to work is inside the core, the html code.
It's not so hard at the end understanding how it work, when you will start to fix your website everything will remain in your mind and maybe your next website will be better because you will remember how you did to fix the first one!
Come on, click here to visit our Free SEO Tool, read the report and try to obtain a result gt;= 80%, then open a Twitter account if you don't have it, and start to find people with your same interests, talk about it and advertise it a bit... without spamming, obviously.
Do you have a Facebook account? Create a Fan Page! Invite people to visit it, invite people to be fan of it. In few days you will see the visit of it will be doubled if not more.
Maybe your website, as well this one, won't be the perfect one but will be loved, and this kind of love will give you the opportunity to go on and to acquire rewards, satisfactions.
Check My SEO is not the perfect website, let's start from the syntax. I am not english native so yes the syntax maybe it's not perfect and for this I ask an apologise but believe me, people don't care too much because the content is well packed and presented.
This is what's happening to Check My SEO, ChkMe.com, becoming every day a bit more popular because people like it.
Thanks to you all.

SEO Doctor

More the time pass and more I see how many companies are appearing in this wild world web called Internet. What was missing? The doctor. Yes, the SEO Doctor is here. A new website, where they claim to offer miracles for a modest fee. The same of SEO Gurus, SEO Magicians, SEO Merchant: They all have a brilliant and powerful method that will work only if you will pay...
Now we can really sleep . But I still remain with the idea, and it's proven, that the best thing you can do for your website is not paying SEO Doctors but simply organize better your website, finding technical solutions instead of paying (a lot of) fees for marketing strategies that will last until you will pay. Yes, you will be addicted, maybe your website will appear in search engines but at which prices? The problem will remain the same, not perfectly managed/organized contents on a possibly great website.
I say No to SEO Doctor, No to SEO Guru, No to SEO Marketing, the best way is a bit of patience and a great will to optimize your website, covering holes, providing to the public interesting contents and maybe advertising by yourself in some directories, creating a Fan Page on Facebook and opening a simple Twitter channel.
The best of your website can come just from you, not from SEO Doctors and SEO Gurus. Like Viagra SPAM soon or later we'll have the SEO Doctor SPAM.
Edit: After only 10 minutes that I posted this, a friend made me realizing that in the last month appeared on internet almost 10 doctor seo, seo doctor, seodoctor website, all with the same purpose... is it becoming a trend or it's really something economically interesting? What's next? The SEO Psychologist? The SEO Psychiatry? If yes, I am claiming since now the copyright of those possible domain names... lol, at least if you are going to like the idea... a thanks will be more than enough.

Simplicity is a Key Factor - SEO Rush

Simplicity is a key factor, of course. It's the reason why we created ChkMe.com and today we received a nice email from Jayde promoting SEO Rush. Practically SEO Rush seems to copy the ChkMe style, talking clearly and giving advices on how to fix any possible SEO issue. Here's the original Mail:

Dear Xxxxx Yyyyyyyy,Simplicity is a key factor when looking for an SEO tool. ZZZZzzz provides a comprehensive toolset that is free and easy to use:Just type in your URL or competitor's URL, and you'll get back important data including site info, pagerank, and more. Keep on Promoting!

Now, what does it mean? That ChkMe was following the right path. Was first with Pumunki, the first Server Status Monitor that was talking in a human way, now is ChkMe. The others are just trying to copy our Human Internet Way.
I am glad that people are going to code tools trying to be human too, but we are the first! Maybe not well advertised but this is our style. And if someone, anyway, is copying us... is because they know we are right.
Just a note for the SEO Rush coder as well the other online SEO tools owner: your Google Indexed Pages tools is not working at all, have you noticed why? Yes, the other website are not ready at all with the new Google changements, but we do! Once again, we are the first following the new technologies!

What SEO is?

Since one of my friends asked me to explain a bit better why a lot of Guru and SEO Websites are appearing on Internet, I decided to say what SEO really means.
SEO is not a magic word, you don't need a magic wand or a voodoo dool to activate it. SEO means... roll the drums: Search Engine Optimization.
SEO it's not a domain value in dollars as many website says, SEO it's not a fact of BackLinks, SEO it's not matter of marketing. SEO start first of all inside your website, deep inside the main code of it.
So how to be SEO optimized? First of all let's clarify that Google is not the only search engine and that every search engine is similar.
To understand what exactly means SEO and how it can help you, let's try to understand a bit how a search engine work:
Let's imagine the Search Engine like a man, but not a common man. Let's say that our friend is a blind man. Yes, he can't see anything but using a special computer our friend have the opportunity to browse every website he want.
Now, imagine our friend in front of his computer, browsing this website: chkme.com
The special computer will start to speak describing exactly what's inside the website. From Menus, passing thru Images, Forms and Comments. Everything will be well described by the super computer.
Now imagine that our friend go to another website, let's say X. For us that we are not blind, visiting this website, full of flash and animations, it's exciting! We like to click the shiny buttons that play a tune at every click but our friend it's seems to be not so happy.
The super computer is not able to describe the content of the website, it was barely able to say the title of it, some footer notices and nothing more.
What's the point of this story: Google, as well as every Search Engine like Yahoo and Bing, it's not able to see images without a description, it's not able to understand flash animations or a movie. Search engines understand just one thing: Text.
Now, SEO: To have a perfect Search Engine Optimized Website you don't need to hire magicians or marketing experts, you just need to pay a bit of attention while coding your website. If you are not a web designer but you hired one, you can just ask him to fix the missing part of the html code to be 100% SEO optimized and using our Free S.E.O. Tools it will be easy and, best of all, totally free.

PageRank

Someone asked: What about PageRank?Don't pay attention to your PageRank. Yes, you don't need to pay attention on it, especially if your website is new.So what to do to advertise? Stay away from people who sell optimization, voodoo dolls, don't buy books, don't buy ad words... the best way to gain some popularity is free! Yes, totally free!
Some years ago someone invented the internet directories where you can ask kindly to put a link to your website. Most of them are free (Example: DMOZ) some others are not, but you don't want to spend a buck, right? So listen to me: Do you want to make link exchanges with directories, blogs and websites? Do it but, before all, check the quality of the website!
Search on Google for free directories (or have a look here), then you can use our tool to check the PageRank, use it! If the website where you want to publish a link have more than 0 as PageRank (but mind that more than 2/3 is better) submit it and if they ask you a back link (sponsored inclusion) accept and publish it.Why? Easy. PageRanks is synonymous of old, famous and... Google love websites with a good PageRank! Yes... I know... I told you PageRank is dead so now... what?? Oh... well, yes! Google (and other search engine) still prefer to give importance to this kind of Classy websites! So this is the fact, for example: If you submit your website in a Class Z Directory (And you better wont submit there, are full of Viagra advertisement), Google won't take it in consideration and won't calculate any link as a valid back link.

Now, if you submit your website in a valid directory, let's say from Class C to Class A, Google (as well as others, also if Yahoo prefer you to submit your website in it's directory, that's not free) will see your website included and will say "Oh well, this one is here, that's good. So let's help this one kicking some ranking positions!" Yes, with this simple trick your website will gain positions and it will be more likely to be found if someone search for the keys resembling your website!
